The Games Workshop Trolls have an unreal amount of detail on them so I’m expecting they’ll take up the bulk of my time next week.

Wood: Vallejo Beige Brown, different boards washed with Serphim Sepia or Citadel Agrax Earthshade, Highlighted the sepia boards more with Beige Brown.īolgrot’s skin was painted with Vallejo Russian Uniform 2, and while I was initially disappointed with the miniature, after putting him together and throwing some paint on him he looks great, and is a worthy addition to the team. Troll flesh: One of each – Citadel Drakenhof Nightshade, CitadelBiel Tan Green and Seraphim Sepia Once Bogrot was put together, I painted him up so that he was at the same stage as the goblins, and added the following colours to them.Ĭloth yellows: Reapplied Citadel Averland SunsetĪrmour yellows: Reapplied Averland Sunset (Mostly not done on the images below)īone and teeth: Citadel Rakarth Flesh, Citadel Seraphim Sepia shade

I still don’t know what the hell is going on with one of his legs… I came to glue him together, and was frustrated by the dodgy joins in the metal, which meant he was going to have to be pinned, and then have gaps filled with Plastic Putty. I spotted a third party fantasy football troll who was wearing a top hat, and ordered it without delay – I like top hats, and despite some crazy looking sections on the miniature, I thought he looked ace.

Ripper Bogrot (Troll star player – not shown initially due to him not arriving soon enough)įive Goblins (more goblins shown as they were being painted up for a full team of sixteen – fatalities permitting), Now goblins, being squishy, weak and so they needed the benefit of some of the larger creatures, and for that reason, I have: Punch was largely based on him, and so in honour of the original, I would be painting up the faces like Pulcinella, while painting up the clothes and armour like Punch. Reading about the history of Punch, it all goes back, someway, to Pulcinella – a 17th century character from Italy. I used to watch Punch and Judy on holiday years ago, and it’s only as I’ve aged I’ve realised what a contemptible bugger he is. The name comes from Peak-Pass, which crossed the mountain range that runs from the East of Kislev, down to Sylvannia in the Warhammer Fantasy Old World. I felt it was time to change things up a bit, and move on to Goblin team. Orcs had beaten the hell out of me, Elves had run rings around me, but Goblins? They’d always been pasted into the ground. I’ve played a human Blood Bowl team for as long as I can remember, and as I’d only managed some success in the early days of Blood Bowl – astrogranite boards anyone? – I decided that I was taking the plunge into a different team. Before that happens, we’ve compiled all the sections from the challenge into their relevant teams, and they’ll be popping up over the next few weeks. Last September we completed a hobby challenge to paint up a Blood Bowl team for a future Brush and Boltgun Blood Bowl League – name undecided – and in the next few weeks we’ll be creating a Blood Bowl section on the site for all the league to be recorded.
